TREASURER

MATT RICHARDSON is a native of Georgia and has lived in South Carolina for over fifteen years. He attended Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina and Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte North Carolina. After three years serving as senior pastor of the Lower Long Cane and Troy Associate Reformed Presbyterian Churches near Abbeville, SC, Matt moved to Beaufort County and became a teacher at Thomas Heyward Academy in Ridgeland. In 2002 Matt became a lender and branch manager with Wachovia Bank and then with Beach First. He has been a banker on Hilton Head for five years. Today, he enjoys managing the Park Lane office of South Carolina Bank and Trust where he is Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager with SCBT.

Matt and his wife Cristina were college sweethearts and were married in 1996. Cris completed the MAT program at USC and has been an educator for the Beaufort County School system in Bluffton. They enjoy the adventure that the outdoors has to offer from hiking and biking to kayaking and boating on the May River. In 2006, their first child, Jake was born and they welcomed new baby, Sam, on June 1, 2009.

Matt joined the Beaufort Rotary Club in 2002 and became a member of the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club in 2004. He enjoys serving as a writer for the Soundings, volunteering for the Heritage and ringing the bell for the Salvation Army during the holidays. He has served on the Front Desk and Finance Committee and is looking forward to this year’s assignment, serving as club Treasurer.  Matt is also active as a volunteer with Family Promise in Bluffton and with Grace Coastal Church in Okatie.
